Arbejdstilladelse
What is a Work Permit?
A work permit is part of Denmark’s immigration framework for non-EU/EEA nationals. It allows foreign professionals to live and work in Denmark under different schemes depending on their qualifications, employment status, or job type. This is managed by SIRI (the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration).
Common schemes include:
- The Positive List (for professions in shortage)
- Fast-track Scheme (for certified companies)
- Pay Limit Scheme (for high-salary positions)
- Researcher and Student Schemes
How does it work?
Applicants must typically:
- Have a job offer from a Danish employer
- Meet the specific criteria of a relevant scheme
- Provide documentation such as a valid passport, employment contract, education certificates, and possibly proof of housing and salary
The application can be submitted online and often requires a biometric appointment at a Danish embassy or SIRI office.
